So has anyone been checking the news. What do you think about the Town which cancelled prom so that a girl couldn't wear a tux and bring a girl as a date? Now the other parents are planning a private prom by invitation only so she can't go, BTW her mother is a lesbian too. And what about the kid in Georgia who got permission to bring a boy to his prom as a date and now his parents have thrown him out? Antone here reading any of this stuff?

i saw the one about the girls in a news ticker a couple weeks ago, it said something about the courts were going to force the school to hold the prom, but that's the last i saw of it, haven't watched much tv since i started class.

Hmm I heard that this week, And I asked my teacher about it. She said that:

- She thought that they had cancelled the prom because her girlfriend and she were going.

- She took it to court because it was prejudice against them

- The trial is next week or month or something.

That's all I heard :/

And Barney Frank says that ENDA is going to get a mark up and move to the floor after the holiday.  And Gates just announced changes to the way that DADTDP is being managed until congress gets rid of it. And and Army Lt was arrested because he handcuffed himself to a fence in Washington protesting because they are throwing him out for being gay.
Check it all out.
woah, crazy. i was reading the navy times in the break room at school and they're conducting a survey or something to see what service members and family think about having don't ask don't tell taken away. a lot of people don't realize it wouldn't just be letting gays openly serve, they would have to change fraternization laws and a whole bunch of stuff like that. pretty much what i got from the article is that the military wants to take away don't ask don't tell but it's going to take a lot of time and smoothing out policy. but really only one half of one percent of people discharged from the military in the past ten years were because of being gay, not that i'm saying it's right but it's not as blown up as everyone thinks. and geez there was a girl back in lackland whom EVERYONE knew she was gay even the MTLs and she had gotten in more trouble for underage drinking than being gay, hell one time she was video chatting with her girlfriend in the middle of the day room and the red rope came up and said hi to her, hah.

woah... i just read an article about Dr Gates changes to DADT, just woah, i'm like speechless, i'm really starting to love the men at the top of my chain of command. making it so that only a general can discharge a service member, that's going to piss them off so bad cuz it'll make so much paperwork for all of them. as a service member myself it makes me excited to know that such steps are being taken, i know a number of people who would love to serve but don't be cause of don't ask don't tell. the only people i know of in the military that don't like gays are the bigots and they're highly outnumbered by people who don't care what sex you like they just care that you can do your job and do it professionally (well as professionally as people our age can be, lol). i just can't wait for the day that i don't have to watch what i say around people, right now that's all anyone who has a problem with me needs to get me out of here.
