So I am finishing up a certification in community activism/organizing through the conituing education program in my religious organization. Anyway there is this coll though long winded book called 'Here Comes Everybody' by Clay Shirky.
Most of the community organizing books are really old and predate modern technology but this one discusses the use of modern technology and how to undertake action without thye old style organizations which creat a class of professional activists who start to spend a lot of their time just raising funds and perpetuating their jobs.
Anyway, if you are interested in very modern approaches to organizing and activism, especially applying modern tek stuff to it I recommend this book. It takes a bit of slogging through for peopel like me who are not enchanted with tek stuff but it really can give you some ideas.
