Auction Find!

Auction Find!
Apparently one of the few things to do around here is to go to a monthly auction.  My mom found out about this and we have gone for the past two months.  It's kind of fun.  It looks like most people use the auction to find furniture, appliances and other things that they need and others use it to clean out their garages, attics, and to clear estates.

So through this I acquired a set of Mark Twain novels.  They are kind of nice actually.  They look well kept and there are seven of them.  The thing is, when I looked inside of them, I noticed that instead of a copywrite page that has the publisher, year of publish, and other information, there is just a page that has what resembles a stamp on it that has the word "Trade" and "Mark" and between them it says "(By S. L. Clemens {Underneath this} Mark Twain.)" .  Above this it says "Printed by arrangement with Harper Row Publishers Incorporated".  On the title page it says its a Nelson Doubleday Inc.  I'd like to find out more about this but so far my web searches are coming up empty.

Anyway, just wanted to share my find!  I can't wait to see what else I find next time I go!

My cousins work at an auction house =3 We had a party there one time. Closed the auction house first, of course :) We destroyed cheap jackets doing the hulk thing, (XD) and had a contest of eating habenero *can't spell XD* peppers with a straight face. Winner got five bucks. Loser had to wear the farmer john overalls the rest of the day XD I lov auction houses. So much random things there. My cousing got a new computer for $2.50.... although there was a still burned into the monitor and it was a very, very slow computer XD 'Could use some upgrades. =3
