I didn't mean to scare anyone with the subject title, I was just thinking to myself and I realized I could ask a bunch of strangers in hopes of finding someone in my situation.
I met a girl. Who only has one flaw. That would do anything in the world for me. At this point anyone would say, stop your bitching, but she's also HIV positive. She was born with it. I've been dating her now for three months and some say I'm absolutely crazy, but the way I look at it is that she's worth the risk....If i didn't, I may regret it, but something I get so scared and I hate it. I just want to know if there is anyone else out there, who may have been in my situation or currently are.

Just so you know, serodiscordant couples (meaning one person is HIV- while the other is HIV+) is not that uncommon.

It's 2009...medical treatment of HIV has made it far less of a death sentence than it was in the 1980s.

A mature relationship between two people in your situation is very doable and there are quite a few people like you. Research the subject deeply and follow safer practices.

Honestly, you shouldn't feel bad or guilty at all. I think it's natural to have some concerns for your own safety in a situation like that. The important thing is that you use precautions and follow whatever medical recommendations there are for someone with HIV.

Another good source of information could be the Center for Disease Control. www.cdc.gov They have tons of resources that can help you get a better understanding of the risks and such. Here's the HIV section too: www.cdc.gov/hiv/
