Helllo (New to OM)
Hello everyone, Well just wanting to introduce myself :)
I'm Lucy, and I love this webpage. I hope to meet lots of like minded individuals, and make friends with everyone. I just came out this month to friends but not family, after I fell in love with a girl. For the first time, and here I am.
Alright, well Hi!

its a big thing and u should take time to congratulate urself...
hopefully you can look back and draw strength from telling your friend..and if you choose to tell anyone else know that it does get easier :)
on another topic..how many people from outminds are here now???
oh and hello to all the other newies :)
Hey Lucy and Sam!
I r out. It was first with friends, and then with family, and now I'm out pretty much with everyone. It's gotten to the point where I think of ways to covertly tell people without saying "Hey, I'm gay!" For example, I stuck in my involvement with my university's GSA-like organization in my resume when I applied for co-op placements and I tell people about my partner, the.alphy, just as people would talk about their girlfriends or boyfriends or spouses or whatnot.
It's amusing to see how people react. Some people don't get phased at all (maybe they didn't catch my coming out hint), and others pause every so slightly. It's kind of a way to say that I'm gay and to get that out first so that if they don't like it or if they have problems with it, we can figure it out (or not be friends.. XD), you know?
I've to write about that story.. maybe in the next little bit. (I'm in a programming mood right now, trying to figure out how to stick in a directory of users and whatnot.. XD I <3 programming.. ^^")
Glad you like the site! We're still thinking of new things to stick in and how to improve what we already have. (There's a whole laundry list of things!) So if you've something in mind that you'd like, let us know. Feedback is always good. Yups. ^_^
How did it go when you came out to your friends? When I first came out to my friends, it was really relieving to finally get that off my chest. My friends acted oddly at first, not knowing how to react and it took a few weeks for them to wrap around the fact that I was still the same person as the guy the day before I told them, you know?
Do you mean that you're with this girl now, or that you haven't told her yet? I hope it goes well with her.

Hmm.. I came out to my folks when I was .... Grade 11, I think? When I was 16? I think that's it.
