New features, functions and such
OfflineYou might have noticed some nifty changes happening here and there. To a large extent, we're still building this site. I'm working on a site-wide mail function so we can send announcements via private messaging to everyone to announce changes (as opposed to message all of you individually.. XD not something I'll be doing).
If there are some things you would like to see in the added or changed, just message us! (the.alphy or the.watcher) Or you can post it here so others can read it too.
Things like the shoutbox were added after someone (nick) suggested it. And we've tweaked and changed a lot of things after getting feedback about how to improve stuff. So suggest on!
Some improvements we've done recently:
- added shoutbox on the home page
- added ability to upload larger photos (so you can post a normal-sized profile image, as opposed to a thumbnail..XD)
- added a general user list so you can all see each other!
- improved buddy list
Some things we're looking at doing:
- colouring chat so it looks like the rest of the site
- added support for multiple profile images
- improving the user search and tying it into the user list
- speeding up page loads
And there's a bunch of little tweaks like moving the shoutbox message box above the actual shoutbox (it's below it right now).

Internet Explorer (IE) users should notice a sizeable banner that appears on the home page now. It (and we) strongly recommend you to switch internet browsers to Opera or Firefox. Besides all those nifty features of Opera and Firefox, they display our site correctly!
By design, IE can't display some minor aspects of OpenMynds correctly, as Microsoft continues to evade web standard compliance. -.-" This means, making pages display on IE = much harder work for me = less time to improve site. You may continue to use IE (and ignore our wonderful message XD), but you may notice a few page rendering errors.
(Safari produces one or two minor issues, but nowhere near the sort of problems IE presents.)
Some other additions:
- profile photos can now be full-sized (they were limited to thumbnails initially)
- search can now search users - revolutionary, huh? (you had to know the exact name of the user before..)
New additions are largely constructed by hand, so if you find any problems/quirks/issues with the site, let me know! Email it to admin@openmynds.com, scream it on the shoutbox, post it on the forums, or simply private message me! Simple. As always, suggestions, criticisms (like how much this IE banner sux0rs), and improvements are always welcome.

You may have noticed some forum posts (like mine) having double signatures. That's due to a recent upgrade to a better signature module.
Previously, the signature was actually inserted directly into the text box and hence the forum post. This meant that if you changed your signature, signatures on previous posts wouldn't change with it. Silly, if you ask me.
This new fix improves in that your signature is no longer part of the post input text. Ergo, signature appears in all of your posts and is always the current signature you have.
The only drawback: we have to manually edit all forum posts to remove those old signatures from the actual post text. We haven't gotten to that yet as other improvements are more exciting and useful.
